Cactus Feeders has nine large-scale feed yards across the Texas High Plains and Southwest Kansas. Cactus is one of the largest worldwide cattle feeding operations. In addition to its nine feed yards, Cactus Feeders owns and operates three ranches in Texas and New Mexico. The farms and ranches maintain 30,000 stocker calves and 2,000 mother cows. Cactus' in-house research efforts have involved new feeding techniques, innovative animal health regimens, creative marketing scenarios and a multitude of other considerations involved in cattle feeding. Cactus received the Cattle Business of the Century Award. Its personnel serve in leadership positions in industry associations including the National Cattlemen's Beef Association and Texas Cattle Feeders Association. The company was founding in 1975 and its employees 32 percent of Cactus Feeders through its Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
