Vanderbilt Eye Institute is a clinical and research facility that provides treatments for eye diseases and vision problems. It treats various eye problems, such as corneal and external disease, glaucoma, retina disease and surgery, oculoplastics and reconstructive surgery, laser vision correction, and pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. The center also provides treatment for low vision, orbital diseases, tear duct obstruction, congenital anomalies, eye infections, neuro-ophthalmologic disorders and tumors affecting the visual system. In addition, it conducts research programs in the areas of neuroprotection, oxidative damage and aging, and vascular biology and hemodynamics. Vanderbilt Eye Institute is part of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is located in Nashville, Tenn.
