University of Tennessee Health Science Center, founded in 1911 and located in Memphis, Tenn., comprises five medical schools and schools of dentistry and pharmacy. It has an enrollment of more than 2,000 students who study in various disciplines and subdisciplines of allied health sciences, health science engineering, dentistry, graduate health sciences, medicine, nursing and pharmacy. It offers a range of subjects, such as allergy and immunology, allied health sciences, anatomy and neurobiology, anesthesiology, biologic and diagnostic sciences, cancer care, cardiology, dental hygiene, and dermatology. Other subjects include hematology and oncology, molecular sciences, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, occupational therapy, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, pathology, and pediatric services.
