HistoryA small group of committed dancers opened Dancers Studio in the Green Hills area in 1974, which evolved into The Young Dancers' Concert Group. The group first performed at TPAC in 1981, then became Nashville City Ballet 1985. The group transitioned into a professional performance company in 1986. Since becoming Nashville Ballet in 1987, it has become the largest professional ballet company in Tennessee. The School of Nashville Ballet provides world-class instruction in ballet and other forms of dance for dancers of all ages.
