History
Larry Mashburn is the managing partner and founding member of the Ocoee Adventure Center. A long time avid whitewater kayaker, Larry became involved with the planning and organization of the 1996 whitewater slalom events in the Atlanta Olympics. After spending so much time in the Ocoee River Area with the Olympics, Larry decided that starting a rafting company wouldn't be such a bad idea. He left behind a successful career in retail consulting, and all the amenities of city life in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to the simple life of the Ocoee. The rest is history! OAC began taking rafting trips in 1997, providing the longest, most playful trips on the river. Years of great service have led the company to much success and growth. We started with one bus and 6 rafts - now we own 4 full size busses, 3 mini-busses and 40 or so rafts. We started with just a small log-cabin building and one tiny parking lot. Now we still have a small log cabin building, but a whole lot more parking.
