History
Founded in 1972 by Chester DeVaney, NAI Charter (then named Charter Real Estate Corporation) played a pivotal role in growing the Chattanooga business community. David DeVaney joined his father's commercial real estate firm in 1988, and took over the company in 2000. David continued to grow the company, adding specialties in leasing, acquisitions and consulting services. Most importantly, David established NAI Charter as a thought leader and problem solver. The NAI Charter team is proud of its long history of involvement with milestone projects pivotal to Chattanooga's revitalization. For example, amassing all tracts of land for the Honor's Golf Course, assembling land for Dupont, Dixie Group, Komatsu, Federal Express, Greyhound, the Coca Cola Bottling Company United and riverfront property for the Tennessee Aquarium, selling BlueCross BlueShield's historical Miller Brother's building and securing property for Chattanooga's metropolitan airport expansion project.
