Meriwether's Retreat Bed and Breakfast is located in Hohenwald, Tennessee one block from the historic downtown area that offers several restaurants, coffee shop, Lewis County Museum of Natural History, Elephant Discovery Center, restored Train Depot and several shops. The B&B's namesake, Meriwether Lewis who led the Corps of Discovery expedition to the Pacific Northwest with William Clark in 1806 is buried at nearby Meriwether Lewis Park on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Lewis died from gunshot wounds in 1809 on the old Natchez Trace while traveling from St. Louis to Washington. Our facility strives to maintain a high level of cleanliness for our clientele. As such, our suites are available to adult clients only. We do not allow children, pets, and we are a smoke-free facility. This beautifully restored bungalow has two large guest suites. Meriwether's Retreat has only one mission: they provide guests with the old-fashioned customer service of yesteryear, cozy accommodations, and fresh, homemade fare that you won’t soon forget.
