History
In June of 2005, a community-based committee formed a Board of Directors to create and operate Memphis Farmers Market to respond to a growing demand for a local farmers market downtown. Quick facts - Over 65,000 people visited the market in 2009 to shop with 70+ vendors. The 2009 season drew an average of 2,247 patrons to the market each week. Vendor and attendee numbers have nearly doubled since 2006, resulting in an estimated $4.5 million economic impact in 2008 for the Memphis area.
