Founded in 1958, Loudon County Fire & Rescue, formerly known as Loudon County Emergency Rescue Squad, handles cases related to vehicle accidents, water-related incidents, and urban search and rescue. The agency operates as a member of the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads to handle fire and rescue emergencies in Tennessee. Loudon County Fire & Rescue maintains a fleet of more than 18 pieces of fire and rescue boats. The agency manages a main station and various substations throughout Loudon County. Every station includes a tanker and rescue truck and engine outfitted with extrication equipment. Loudon County Fire & Rescue protects over 50,000 individuals. The agency responds to nearly 700 calls every year.
