History
In 2004, the Humane Society adapted a prevention based business model in order to save more animals. Since closing our shelter doors, we've been able to save thousands more animals through spay-neuter, rescue & adoptions through foster homes, veterinary assistance, pet food bank, and more.

The mission of the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County is to reduce overpopulation and euthanasia by offering low cost, high quality spay-neuter services to all pet owners. We work to promote responsible pet ownership and reduce the suffering of animals through educational and preventive programs, which include: * Spay-Neuter Assistance Clarksville (SNAC) - a low cost spay-neuter program for all pet owners * Animal Welfare Assistance Services (AWAS) - provides resources as available for animal care to qualifying families in need of assistance * Anti-Tethering and Chaining Program (ATCP) - humane education for improving the quality of life for chained or tethered animals * Shelter and Rescue Support Program (SRSP) - provides food and other animal related items as resources permit to other rescue organizations for homeless pets originating from Montgomery County * Be Aware, Responsible and Kind (BARK) - provides speakers and educational materials on community animal welfare issues for organizations and schools
