Dyer County High School, established in 1972, offers education to more than 1,000 students in grades nine through 12. It is affiliated with the Dyer County School District and offers a curriculum that includes social sciences, language arts, foreign language, mathematics, science, fine arts, personal development and vocational education. It offers various club activities to students, such as the National Honor Society, art, astronomy, drama, history, mathematics, Leo, ocean science and Spanish clubs. The various extracurricular activities offered by the school include marching band, student council, yearbook, newspaper, career fairs, music concerts and job shadowing. It has an athletic department that provides various sports activities, such as cheerleading, baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, softball, tennis, track and volleyball. The school has a library and media center for research and project-based activities. Dyer County High School is located in Newbern, Tenn.
