Columbia City Hall houses various personnel, fire, police, public works, grants and planning, and engineering and building codes departments. It has a finance department that is responsible for the city s payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, budget preparation, auditing and fixed asset management. The city hall s grants and planning department provides guidance for the implementation of planning in the areas of land use, transportation, community facilities, historic preservation, and economic and commercial development. Columbia City Hall also includes the offices of the city manager and recorder.
