Bearden High School, established in 1967, offers education to more than 1,800 students in grades nine through 12. The school offers a variety of subjects in its curriculum, including English, mathematics, consumer science, history, foreign languages, technical and special education, business studies, and physical education. It provides various extracurricular activities to students, such as science Olympiad, forensic league, drafting and engineering club, dramatics, newspaper, yearbook, literary magazine, cheerleading squad, National Honor Society and dance team. The sports activities offered by the school include football, baseball, soccer, golf, tennis, cross country, wrestling, basketball, golf, softball, swimming and diving, climbing, ice hockey, rugby, lacrosse and track. The school provides career counseling, scholarships, and information about colleges throughout the United States. Bearden High School is located in Knoxville, Tenn., and is affiliated with the Knox County School District.
