Welcome to Museum of Visual Materials We are doing a website overhaul in the next couple weeks so make sure to keep checking our website for our fresh new look! The home of the Museum of Visual Materials is one of the oldest building in Downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota (1887). Even though we are the oldest building, we are the most advanced in GREEN environment efficient standards. Our building runs on Geo-Thermal heating and cooling, Solar panel energy, fast growing renewable resources such as cork and bamboo floors, and wheat cupboards. All of our plumbing and electric fixtures are high efficient and skylights have been added to the building to use more natural light. Learn More about our Green innovations in our LEED section of our website. Our building has so much for the community to do.We have sewing machines for the community to use along with all of the fabrics, thread and buttons you would need to create whatever they would like for free. We have a state-of-the-art Commercial kitchen which will be used for cooking demonstrations and hall rentals. A sound proof listening room so people can enjoy 1 of 1000's of records or 8-tracks that we have on hand. Over 4, 500 books so people can sit and enjoy reading all types of subjects such as cooking, religions, science, gardening, children's, fantasy, and the arts. We have a special brew of coffee that people can enjoy for free while relaxing and using our free Wi-Fi.
