Huron Regional Medical Center is a 60 plus-bed licensed acute care hospital in Huron County, S.D. The hospital has more than 250 employees and offers services in anesthesiology, family practice, general surgery, geriatrics, neurology, pediatrics, radiology and urology. HRMC was originally chartered by Michigan as Hubbard Memorial Hospital in 1906. After the construction of a new hospital in 1970, Hubbard Memorial and Bad Axe General Hospital merged to form Huron Memorial Hospital. The hospital made additions in 1976, 1981, 1989 and 1994. The 1994 renovation required 29 beds to be delicensed to make room for the addition of the cardiopulmonary, pharmacy, medical records, physical therapy and radiology departments. A central registration area was also added.
