Mohamed A. Abdelwahab, M.D., Ph.D is a sleep surgeon who specializes in providing a variety of procedures for comprehensive management of sleep apnea. This includes surgery to the pharyngeal airway, the nose, the facial skeleton (face), and the tongue base. Dr. Abdelwahab finished his dedicated sleep surgery fellowship in the Sleep Surgery Division, Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University. This was preceded by his joint supervision PhD program and scholarship in facial skeletal and nasal surgery in the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University. Stanford has pioneered the field of sleep apnea surgery since the 1970s. Dr. Abdelwahab is otolaryngology trained, and specializes in facial skeletal surgery and nasal surgery. Dr. Abdelwahab's clinical and academic (research) work over the last years has focused on outcome measures after facial skeletal and nasal surgery for sleep apnea, as well as real-world evidence for sleep surgery.
