Based in Walhalla, S.C, Walhalla Elementary School is part of the Oconee County Schools District. The school serves more than 450 students from grades kindergarten through five. Walhalla Elementary offers a number of extracurricular activities for students. An after school homework center is available three-days a week and staffed by two certified teachers. Students can participate in the drama, chorus, art squad and student council. Computer labs are open before and after school to give students extra opportunities for learning. Teachers uses a wide variety of resources, such as textbooks, trade books, leveled texts, manipulative, technology and computer software to enhance the school s curriculum. Programs such as Reading Recovery, SOAR, ESOL, and Resource provide academic assistance for the school s at-risk students. Special classes are offered in art, music, computers, library and physical education.
