The U.S. Coast Guard's Boating Safety Division is responsible for reducing loss of life, injuries, and property damages which occur on U.S. waterways by improving the knowledge, skills and abilities of recreational boaters. Located in Georgetown, S.C., the division performs various protection activities, including vessel safety checks and boating safety courses. It also provides a video and photo library facility for boating safety specialists, advocates and general public. The boating safety division has partnership with the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA).
