Tisha Boston, MD, FAAFP, is a board-certified family medicine physician with Prisma Health Family Medicine–Colonial Drive in Columbia. Dr. Boston has been practicing in the Midlands since 2001 when she completed her Family Medicine residency at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital. Dr. Boston received her undergraduate degree from Clemson University and medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine where she currently serves as a clinical faculty member as an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. She has spent most of her career helping to educate learners earning the American Academy of Family Physicians degree of fellow in 2017; just before returning to the Family Medicine Residency Program in 2021, she served as the Ambulatory Care Residency Director at WJB Dorn VA Medical Center. Over the more than 20 years she has been in practice, she has concentrated her patient care on serving underserved and vulnerable populations including geriatric, indigent, and veteran populations. She has held various leadership positions throughout her career and was recognized nationally as a 2020 Veteran’s Health Administration Shark Tank semi-finalist for her project on improving quality and reducing lab costs at WJB Dorn VA Medical Center. Dr. Boston’s clinical interests include population health, geriatrics, preventive medicine and healthcare disparities.
