I came from England with a Rider background in the year 1999. I bought a small horse farm and hired a trainer. What a mistake within minutes I knew this type of training was not for me. In England I rode other peoples horses and was not involved in their training. Here it was different, they were my horses. I was told this is how they are trained. Beaten would be a better word, I now understood the term
