HistoryIlka Doubek has been a professional ballet & modern dancer since 1973. She has choreographed ballet, modern and opera internationally. In the US, she has choreographed for the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago and for Charleston Ballet Theatre. Ilka was a guest artist as a solo dancer and/or choreographer in many of the major European opera houses where most of her professional performing career has been focused. Ilka is a certified teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and an examiner with Dance Masters of America. She has served as Director of the Pawleys Island Youth Arts (PIYASpecialtiesWe offer a wide variety of dance styles, including tumbling, which makes our students well rounded and more successful.
