A Georgia native, Matthew Lustig, MD, completed an MBA at the University of Georgia before going to medical school at UGA as part of a partnership with Augusta University. He completed a residency and fellowship in pediatric neurology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He chose pediatric neurology after serving with a special needs ministry at his church and then with Special Olympics at the University of Georgia. He realized how much he could help this population. He continues to serve as a physician in the Army National Guard. He views pediatric neurology as a team sport, and he works closely with patients, their families and the rest of the team. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and also enjoys going to the gym, lifting weights and working out.
