Lindsey Cox, M.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. She graduated magna cum laude with her Doctor of Medicine from The Ohio State University where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed urology residency at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received her fellowship training in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Michigan. Dr. Cox is an active member of the American Urological Association; the Society for Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine, and Urogenital Reconstruction; and the Society of Academic Urologists. Dr. Cox is Board Certified in both Urology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Cox's clinical interests include complex incontinence and voiding dysfunction, neurogenic bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, and urologic reconstruction. Her research interests include the study of neurogenic bladder, urodynamics, and male and female voiding dysfunction, and urinary tract infection. She is the author and editor of multiple peer-reviewed scientific articles, review articles, and book chapters. She has presented her research at national and international meetings. She is the program director for the Urology residency program at the Medical University of South Carolina and has an interest in graduate medical education, surgical training, and the study of effective teaching and mentoring.
