Kalpit Devani, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained gastroenterologist at Prisma Health in Greenville, South Carolina. He received his medical degree from Tianjin Medical University in Tianjin, China, and then moved to the United States where he completed his internal medicine residency at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. He then completed a gastroenterology fellowship at ETSU, where he served as lead resident and as chief fellow. Dr. Devani specializes in diagnosis and treatment in all the aspects of digestive disease. He has expertise in wide range of endoscopic procedure such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, therapeutic endoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube placement, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), esophageal/enteral stent placement, capsule endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). Dr. Devani also focuses on outcomes-based clinical research. He has presented at multiple national conferences, including more than 10 oral presentations and more than 50 posters at national meetings. He was awarded a fellow-in-training award by the American College of Gastroenterology in 2018, and a young investigator award by the American Gastroenterology Association in 2017. His work has been published in multiple peer reviewed medical journals. He has been invited as reviewer from multiple high impact factor journals and served as associate editor for American College of Gastroenterology Case Report Journal. He is a member of several major national societies and is also involved as a national committee member for the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
