Columbia Housing Authority
Established in 1934, Columbia Housing Authority offers subsidized housing services for low income families who are residents of Columbia, Cayce and Richland County in South Carolina. It provides housing to more than 9,000 residents in the Columbia metropolitan area and over 1,700 units of housing for families of low and moderate incomes. Additionally, the housing authority has established police substations in two communities. It has various home ownership programs and offers a variety of homes for sale. The housing authority offers various programs for residents of all ages, including Computer Kids Program that offers computers. Its senior housing facility offers various activities to residents, including field trips, arts and crafts, museum tours, holiday dinners, health screenings, dances and exercise classes.
