Founded in 1854, Columbia College is a private, liberal arts, women's college. It is also comprised of a coeducational evening college and graduate school. The college serves more than 1,500 students. Columbia College offers associate s, bachelor s and master s degrees in various subjects, including arts, science, fine arts, education and music. The college provides over 35 undergraduate programs in various fields, such as dance, English, French, history, chemistry, mathematics, biology and behavioral science. In addition, its evening college offers nearly 10 undergraduate programs, such as communication, accounting, psychology and religion. Columbia College provides a variety of sports activities, including basketball, soccer, tennis and volleyball. The college has a library that offers various educational resources, such as periodicals, books, magazines and encyclopedias. Located in Columbia, S.C., Columbia College is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
