GLEAMNS Head Start-St. Andrews is one of the locations of GLEAMNS Head Start, which is a child development program that serves more than 1,660 children between the ages of 3 and 5. GLEAMNS Head Start also provides a range of support services for families. The program works for increasing the school readiness and social competence of young children in low-income families. It has more than 15 centers in Greenwood, Laurens, Edgefield, Abbeville, McCormick, Newberry, Saluda and Fairfield counties in South Carolina. The program includes educational and dental, medical and mental health care services. GLEAMNS Head Start is operated by the GLEAMNS Human Resources Commission.
