The Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence's Wanskuck Branch has been serving the North End community since its opening in 1927, providing before and after school childcare services to seven neighborhood schools and offering open-door memberships for children ages 6-13. With a range of facilities including an indoor heated pool, full-size gymnasium, games room, homework help room, and learning center, the Club offers specialized activities such as swim lessons, art classes, homework help, and soccer leagues.
As a successful and longstanding institution, the Wanskuck Branch was built by the owners of the Wanskuck Mill, who designed the building to easily convert into a factory if the Club did not thrive. Today, the Club continues to thrive, providing a safe and enriching environment for children in the community to learn, grow, and engage in various programs and activities.
