The Station House not only offers a constantly expanding menu, but also the kind of neighborhood service most S.K. residents know and love. The restaurant is located alongside the Kingston rail line. Remodeled in March of 2010, it serves breakfast and lunch, and now hosts BYOB dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings. Breakfast favorites include Johnny cakes made from Kenyon corn meal. One customer even hails the Station House's home fries as "the best ever".
"Ninety percent of our menu is made from scratch," owner/chef Michael Labonte says. Labonte, a RISD culinary arts grad, took over the restaurant in May of 2006. "I created a new menu, and wanted it to represent South County, or the 'comfort food zone', as I like to call it."
