Paying homage to the Seabees--the Navy's construction battalion created in 1942 out of Davisville Navy Base--this museum and park was built and operated by Seabees. From World War II to Afghanistan to Antarctica, the Seabees were involved in some of the biggest combat missions and construction projects in American history.
The museum features a gift shop and a series of Quonest huts housing the museum's displays. Also on the site is the world's only poured concrete chapel, Chapel in the Pines, built by none other than the Seabees themselves.
Run entirely by volunteers, this nonprofit welcomes anyone interested in volunteering--military and nonmilitary.
