The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority also known as RISLA is a nonprofit state authority that provides higher education loans. Founded in 1981, it has provided more than 200,000 loans to over 100,000. Its college planning center counsels students and parents on the college admissions and financial aid process. Its teacher, nurse and pharmacy reward programs provide loan incentives to students who are employed in one of these occupations in the State of Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority provides college bound federal parent plus Stafford, and graduate and professional plus, Consolidation loans and Rhode Island family education loans. It is located in Warwick, R.I. .
