Specialties
The physical therapists' distinctive view of the body and its biomechanics is central to determining a diagnosis and an intervention strategy to help speed recovery from an injury or surgery. Your therapist will work to help you reach your goals. Adolescents and adults are treated for multiple musculoskeletal disorders. The plan of care may include treatment such as specific therapeutic exercise, electrical stimulation using one of four different types of machines, ultrasound (with adjustable heads), spinal and extremity mobilization, vapo-coolant spray and mechanical agents such as traction to reduce pressure on the spine including disks. Other treatments include: functional training, sports specific training, ambulation aid training, custom made and off-the-shelf splints, patient education, ergonomical education, spinal stabilization and lifting education. The emphasis at McVay Physical Therapy is on individualized care.
