The South Kingstown Inclusionary Preschool (SKIP) is a preschool program for South Kingstown residents located in the historic Hazard School. SKIP was created in 1994 based on research that indicates the importance of early education and the understanding that children learn best in settings that include children of all abilities. SKIP provides a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that respectfully embraces the value of each child, family, faculty member and community partner. Children within the program are provided with a wealth of experiences to encourage their intellectual, social-emotional and physical growth with a focus on the development of age-appropriate social skills and a positive approach to learning. High expectations are set for all children, with the fundamental understanding that each child learns best through instruction which is built upon his or her unique strengths and learning style.
