Founded in 1910, The Gordon School is a coeducational, independent elementary school providing various academic and extramural activities. It enrolls more than 390 students in grades kindergarten through eight. The school serves students from more than 40 cities and towns in the states of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Its core curriculum includes various subjects, such as social studies, English, language arts, mathematics, science and world languages. Its classrooms are equipped with computers with direct, networked access to library resources and to the Internet. Its students also have access to digital cameras, scanners and color laser printers for use in presentations. Its main building houses administrative offices, an activity room that is used for lunch periods, assemblies and performances, music studio, and art studios with a kiln room.
