History
Adaptive Prosthetics & Orthotics specializes in fitting patients with upper and lower limb artificial limbs and custom orthopedic bracing. David Hewett CP, BOCPO, owner of Adaptive Prosthetics & Orthotics, started the company part-time out of his house in Glastonbury, CT in June 1997 while still continuing to work at Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, MA. In 2007, Adaptive Prosthetics moved to its current main location at 52 National Drive, Glastonbury, CT. It is a newly renovated 5000 sq ft handicap accessible facility. In 2016, Adaptive opened a second location in Bozrah, CT to help service the clients in southeastern CT. 2017 Adaptive Prosthetics celebrated our 20th year in business. In late 2017, Adaptive Prosthetics opened an additional location in Waterford, CT. In December, the Bozrah office moved to Norwich, CT. In 2018 Adaptive Prosthetics added additional locations in Hartford, CT, Westerly, RI and Pittsfield, MA.
