History
Bob Pierson recognized that many of the farmers who sold at farmers' market did not have a way to sell their products in the winter months. He started a winter buying club so that farmers and producers could sell locally grown and lightly processed artisan foods.
Specialties
Winter Harvest is a buying club now in its 15th season. From Winter Harvest you can order locally produced food during the winter and spring months when most farmers' markets and CSAs are not open. You submit your orders twice a month through Farm to City's web site. Our driver delivers orders every Thursday to sites in Philadelphia and a number of towns in Montgomery, Delaware, and Camden Counties. By ordering from Winter Harvest, you use your food dollars to support your good health and get fresh, delicious food, to support local farmers and food artisans, and to become part of a growing movement that promotes farmer welfare and environmental stewardship. Winter Harvest offers high quality foods, many of which are otherwise not available to urban households.
