History
Shebang is the brainchild of two South Philly artists, Meg Foley and Carmichael Jones - It began as a space for artistic experimentation, energy collision, and supported trying-out-of-things - by hosting workshops, classes, events, and short term residencies. Now The Whole Shebang is also a community space, available to rent by teachers, speakers, and artists for workshops and gatherings and by the community at large as a small party space. Shebang contains private studios for flameworking and sculpture, and a public dance and movement studio. The dance and movement studio (pictured) offers affordable rentals for rehearsals, classes, auditions, photo and video shoots, meetings, showings, and small events and have lock out rates for projects that want to take over the space for a short period of time. Shebang offers classes and workshops in dance and theatre performance and improvisation, vocal work, Body Mind Centering, Authentic Movement, and it's always changing with the season.
Specialties
We specialize in being a clean, beautiful, blank slate and work hard to be responsive to the needs of our renters. We put a lot of love and care into our space and find that it translates into making Shebang a great place to be.
