Founded in 1932 as Crime Prevention Association, Caring People Alliance is a nonprofit organization that works for the social welfare of children and youths. The organization annually serves more than 11,000 individuals and over 500 families through several community centers. It offers community-based programs and services that promote the development of decision making skills, healthy lifestyles and teamwork. The organization offers Caring Paws, which is a program that includes animal- and horticultural-assisted therapy for senior citizens. Caring People Alliance organizes summer camps that include field trips, art and computer classes, sports and cultural events. It also offers mentoring, tutoring and homework assistance services. The organization provides Adolescent Violence Reduction Partnership, which is an after-school program designed to prevent delinquency among adolescents. With a presence in Philadelphia, Caring People Alliance is a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the United Way.
