Bucks County, Penn., founded in 1692, comprises more than 600-square-miles of land and 16-square-miles of water. The county is home to more than 600,000 people within 23 boroughs and 31 townships. It is famous nationwide for its historic sites, including the Mercer Museum, Washington Crossing Historic Park, Pennsbury Manor and Pearl S. Buck House. Three commissioners, elected every four years and represent both major political parties, govern the county.
