Founded in 1918, The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh is one of the largest social service and civil rights organizations in southwestern Pennsylvania. It serves more than 36,000 individuals in Pittsburgh and the surrounding counties. The organization s education and youth development department has serves over 2,500 youths. The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh provides services in the areas of education, health advocacy, housing, early childhood and youth development. It also offers solutions related to economic empowerment and employment and career training and counseling. The organization administers the through the Housing Department and Hunger Services Program, which offers services for nearly 24,000 individuals in Allegheny, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties in Pennsylvania. In addition, The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh operates the Family Growth and Child Development Department.
