HistoryIn 1954, John & Gloria Dutcavich returned to the Coal Region to operate the former Tuson Funeral Home after the death of its owner. Like many Coal Region funeral directors, John persevered through leaner years by working other jobs, supplementing his income to support his family of six children. Their oldest, David, joined the Navy after high school; but would eventually choose funeral service as a career. In 1982, after 6 years of Naval service and 4 years of college, David and his wife, Debbie, returned to Minersville to work in the family's business. After John's death in 1988, Gloria continued to operate the business, while David served as the Supervisor. Debbie, a Registered Nurse, provided follow-up visits and assistance for families, continuing the program until succumbing to Breast Cancer in 1995.
