HistoryFirst Saint Johns is one of the historic churches of York, with a great tradition. We are also very much involved in the life of York at the present. Worship is a special time to come together in a tradition that is shared around the world and down through history. This is an inspiring cathedral, which is also a warm and welcoming Christian fellowship. We respect our history, but we are also moving boldly into the future to serve our members and our neighbors in a meaningful way as Christ's disciples in downtown York.SpecialtiesChristian worship, teaching and support. We are the home of WYCO community 106.1FM. We host groups such as NA, AA, Employment Support Group, Grief Share, Food Bank, worship in liturgical Lutheran tradition. Workout area with weights, treadmills, elliptical, boxing/martial arts equipment and area. Kickboxing classes Thursday afternoons at 3:30 and martial arts Saturdays 1pm with our 10th degree black belt instructor. Prayer room that provides solitude and a pleasant environment with antique furniture, stained glass windows and space to listen to music, pray, meditate, journal and study.
