History
In 1920, Shelly Electric Company was founded by Samuel Shelly. Sam performed electrical work in the Center City Philadelphia area primarily in commercial and entertainment fields. Sam's interests in the electrical industry led him to securing patents in conjunction with the Thomas Edison Company for a record album changer and a mine sweeping system for sea vessels. In 1946, Al Shelly joined his father as the business expanded to high rise apartments, office buildings and industrial installations. Al's accomplishments included a nationwide installation program with Crown Cork and Seal for their canning operation. In 1976, Bruce Shelly joined his father and grandfather in their continued growth of the company by focusing on renovation, tenant fit-up, hospital and communication installations. This growth is primarily due to the consistently high level of workmanship we provide our clients.
