History
In 1970, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania enacted and funded its first comprehensive Mental Health/Mental Retardation Act. Bertram Wolfson, RHD Board Chairperson, was asked to form a citizen's committee to administer a program in Lower Merion Township of Montgomery County - with an initial grant of just $50,000. The committee incorporated Resources for Human Development as a nonprofit human services organization and hired Bob Fishman as its first executive director. On September 25, 2013, RHD's Board of Directors announced Bob Fishman's retirement from RHD with the title CEO Emeritus, transitioning the nonprofit's leadership to Dyann Roth as CEO. After Roth left RHD to become President and CEO of Inglis, the RHD Board of Directors named Marco Giordano as Chief Executive Officer Dec. 18, 2017. From one program, two employees and a budget of $50,000, RHD has grown into a $200-plus million corporation that employs more than 5,000 people across the country and serves thousands annually
