The Pittsburgh Steelers Football Club is a professional sports organization that is a member of the National Football League. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a part of the North Division of the American Football Conference, along with the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns. The Steelers were established in 1933 as the Pittsburgh Pirates. The franchise has won 17 division titles and five conference championships. The Steelers appeared in Super Bowls IX, X, XIII, XIV and XXX. The team won four of its five trips to the NFL championship game. The Pittsburgh Steelers organization has produced several Hall of Fame players, such as Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swann and Mean Joe Greene. The franchise, whose defense was once dubbed The Steel Curtain, plays in Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.
