Pittsburgh Perry High School is a traditional academy that offers a range of educational and enrichment programs. Operational since 1980, the school enrolls more than 700 students in grades 9 through 12. It offers lessons in science, world language, social studies and mathematics, as well as guidance counseling services. Pittsburgh Perry High School also provides reading skills development and theatrical arts classes. The school administers financial aid, scholarship, and special and gifted education programs. It conducts extracurricular activities, such as band and music. Pittsburgh Perry High School, governed by Pittsburgh Public Schools, operates a poetry club. The school provides opportunities for football, golf, soccer and cross-country.
