Located in Ambler, Pa., Wissahickon Middle School offers classes to students in grades six through eight. It has an enrollment of more than 1,000 students and provides courses in various subjects. The school has a student council and a parent-teacher group that supports and fund school activities and programs. It also improves communication between home and school. Additionally, the school has a LetterGrade, a Web-based product that allows teachers to make real-time attendance and grading information. The Wissahickon Middle School also organizes music activities that include concerts, bands and chorus. Its intramural sports program offers opportunities for participation to all students. The school s intervention group support students who might be at-risk of drug, alcohol issues, depression, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders and sudden behavioral changes. These students are referred to appropriate agencies for professional assessment and possible treatment recommendations.
