Parkway Northwest High School focuses on peace and social justice as a means of educating its students. It is a special admission (magnet) school, and as such, caters to students from throughout Philadelphia that apply and are accepted. The school's program promotes its peace and justice plan by teaching its students research skills and critical thinking methods. Various activities and projects are offered; in some cases, students have the opportunity to take a service trip to South Africa. Students must complete four English credits, four social studies credits, three science credits, three math credits, two world languages credits, 1.5 physical education credits, two humanities credits and four elective credits in order to graduate. The school is located on the 38-acre New Covenant campus.
