The Northampton Township Volunteer Fire Department has three stations located throughout the area. The Richboro station, No. 3, has two engines with various capabilities such as a ladder and heavy rescue. The department, comprised of four paid daytime firefighters and a pool of roughly 60 volunteers, serves 26 square miles and about 42,000 residents. It also offers a Junior Fire Fighting program open to residents between the ages of 16 and 18.
