Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church has been a staple to the residents in Marple and Newtown townships since its establishment in 1939.
The church is located on Media Line Road between the town's community center and senior high school.
Several activities and programs the church offers involve the participation of all ages from its congregation. There is a Boy Scouts, a youth ensemble and a Christian education hour for the younger members of the congregation. For adults, there is an adult choir, programs of outreach feeding the homeless and a Christian education hour.
